Milo has some pretty deformed teeth in his mouth. Some are so far down just the tip shows through his gum and his right canine is too far back.. he will eat cooked chicken but when it comes to eating those kibbles he cant. he rolls em around then spits them out. if he does chew on it falls out of his mouth. I dont know if its the shape or what..

Thinking about feeding raw but dont know where to start..

Ive been reading on the net about it for months now,Im not going to do raw,but yesterday i purchased some grain free freeze dried mix that you add either raw or cooked meat to.I gave them a little today mixed in with there kibble and they loved it. We will see how it works for poops and tummys, lol. With 3 pugs now i think it will be cheaper for me to make there food,as i add fruits and veggies every day anyways,i might as well just by different meats and cook up big batches and freeze. There is so much info all over about it,recipes, supliments etc...I find i can read forums or blogs for hours, lol
I know I had trouble feeding dry to my other two, they both were reared on wet food aka Pedigree Chum. Unfortunately it did no good for their teeth resulting in Angus losing quite a lot.
I am a bit concerned about raw food for Pugs because of their dentition and I don't know if Milo chews anything, bones feature in this diet, doesn't it?
If he doesn't really chew, raw meat would also be a problem also.
I would check the Web for your information, I think all you need to do is Google BARF Diet and you get a lot of info, from people who will deliver the meat to instructions or directions on this. Here are two of them.

He does chew, hes just an EXTREMELY slow eater. I gave him a tripe stick earlier, its like super crunchy and then goes soft a bit like rawhide and then the dog needs to tear bits off. It took about an hour or two to eat but he managed it. :P Hes better at tearing with his left side than right because obviously the right side is a bit messed up.. I had a bit of puppy kibble left over in the tub of dog food, i scooped some out for him for his dinner and peawee had the adult version which was large round biscuits. The ones milo had were small ones. he ate all of them. I think he just struggles with the larger ones, then again i dont think he even chewed the little ones. Ill have a lok at those links soon :)
Have you tried the Pug specific Royal Canin, it is a special shape to fit the Pug mouth, Hektor loves it, likes it in his Kong before he demolishes it in the bowl. I suppose Sophie with his problems it is to be expected that he is a bit slower than Peawee. Mind you Julie in California was told it wasn't good food, but I have used it since it came out. Do check out the Barf though, a lot of people swear by it specially for allergies.
I feed milo and peawee James wellbeloved at the mo. They did have eukanuba but it gave them horrid gas and they were poopin up to 6 times a day. They only poop twice now but i dont know if royal canin is very good i was thinking about buying it at one time and we took a few pug sample bags from the pet store to try it once but just used it as training treats cause there wasnt enough to gradually swap
Milo is a really beautiful pug. So are your other pugs. We love the pictures you posted. Milo will not or cannot eat the dry kibbles food, is that right? You have tried different brands? I am wondering if our pug, Chocko is coming into a similar problem. He has always eaten kibbles (Before Grain by Merrick) and devours every morsel, but just in the past week I have noticed that he now hesitates and doesn't finish his meal. I am not sure if it is because the flavor of the food, or perhaps, because the small hard kibbles hurt his teeth. Are you going to try a different brand? Or do you intend to feed him cooked chicken or canned food?
Besides Wellness, I feed a lot of raw food and home made meals to my dogs and they love it! It's really fun to cook for them too. There are several websites that will help you with free recipes (raw or not) and teach you on the right amount to feed the dogs too.
A little bit of research is very helpful to make sure you are including all the necessary vitamins etc in whatever you feed.
Amazon has some pretty cheap books you can by on raw food diet and home cooked meals as well.
It is not expensive as one may think, and it did make a pretty good difference in my dog"s overall health. The hardest part is to keep them quiet and waiting when I'm in the kitchen preparing the food... lol
Good luck!
