Hi, I am having concerns about my pugs breathing. Yes I know that pugs are prone to it due to there flat faces and small nostrils but to hear my boy struggle I worry. Every now and then but lately more often he breaths in very loudly and forcefully and his belly/diaphragm tightens up a lot. Before he would do it occasionally once in a while but it has become more frequent and I am concerned. It doesn’t stop him playing and being happy but I worry if I take him vets immediately they will suggest surgery to widen his nostrils which I only want to be a last resort as some vets are quite negative about pugs noses.
Please any suggestions or personal stories would help.
Thank you,Marcie and Arnie the pug.
