Social network for pugs and their people.
Tomorrow is my Pug Hektor's Birthday, he is nine tomorrow. For a good while over this summer I have been worried to death with him. He coughed and choked his way through it and as for walking, he was very willing to go out and we were extremely worried as you can imagine about him going out. He would start well but even after a short walk he was obviously not happy and we would get him home.
Well yesterday he was happy to walk up to the community field, not far but too far for him on several ocassions, he has been driven up in fact quite a few times. He had a good run round and that has been enough for him. Yesterday it certainly was not and I ended up taking him down the local park which is at the end of our street where he pranced round like a puppy. This morning he rounded up the family so we were out before normal to get him up the field once more and so far today he has been looking to get out again.
His Mum, me, has been worried stupid as all my friends here know, he is due his six monthly health check soon and I fortunately have been waiting for this, now it seems just as well.
Pugs, they drive you insane if you let them.
I remember when this one was born like it was yesterday and the nine years have simply flown in.
Helena!!! I haven't been active on this site in years and just came on to retrieve some of my pictures and saw your post! I miss you guys and so glad to see all is well. Look at that charming boy! Happy belated Birthday to the handsome King. xoxox Jackie & Guido
Jackie,I just noticed this, how are you and Guido doing? As you can see we are still here. me probably because I will not join Facebook but Di keeps me up to date with everything that is going on.
Hi Jackie, just found this and appropriately Guido in his Santa outfit. He is looking really cute. We are fine, Hektor has had his ups and downs, had entropion which should have been sorted years ago, then sudden onset cattaracts only one ripened so he has had that done he worried me a bit and still does with his coughing but he needs to lose weight again, he put it on during his inactivity in the summer.
We moved again, I don't know it you were around when we moved from the big house to a smaller one? Well it wasn't a pleasure living opposite a Primary School so we moved last April to a lovely two bedroom bungalow in a village outside of Dunfermline called Carnock, historic little village with it's own Pub and page in Wiki. New one, brand spanking new and Hektor had much fune annoying the builders, now he is telling off all the new dogs who have moved into the street and one is a huge German Shepherd lady. We managed today not to be bad with her, they were both off leash down in our local park. We have a little Staffordshire Bull Terrier who lives next door to same GSD and a little terrier across the road and immediately across from us, just moved in is a Spaniel so he finally has lots to disagree with. It is really nice to hear from you.
Hi Helena and really great hearing from you as well! I hope you had a great Christmas and that your New Year is off to a wonderful start! Thanks for the kind words about Guido! I'm sorry to hear about Hektor's health :( ...it's always something with these guys, isn't it? I hope his health issues are able to get under control. Guido could stand to lose about 5lbs as well. Easier said than done lol.
Oh wow, Congratulations on the new place! Hahahaha that sounds like Hektor all right bossing the neighborhood kids around :) I love it! Thanks for the update, so nice to hear back!
