Anyone able to foster my baby in the Northern Virginia area?

Hi there everyone!

I recently had to move because of current conditions and had to put my Bugg, Charlotte in with in doggie boarding. It's starting to get expensive and I was wondering if there were any foster families out there who were willing to look after my baby for a few weeks until I'm able to find somewhere for us to call home? Or if you knew of any organizations that look after pets in these situations. I have contacted the ASPCA and Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue but unfortunately neither are able to help me. All the place I'm welcome to stay won't allow Charlotte for various reasons. My sister who could help watch her for the time being said that she would keep her if I took her there and I'm not looking to give her up at all. I'm just looking for help for the next couple of weeks. If anyone can help, knows someone that can, or an organization I could try, please let me know! Thank you!

Charlotte is a 2,  a pug boston mix and completely lovable :)

As most will tell you if you let one of these places take her you'll have to sign papers and give her up as most do it this way the spca will take her but,you will not get her back they are like this this is a fact out here you will have to give her up the only way is if you find a friend or family member who cn keep her a bit for you. These places see it as you can not care for her so you'll have to surrender her and they will adopt her out i'm sorry but, this is how most do it i wish you luck but,you may have to take that next step as she will be placed in a loving home especially if you go through a rescue.Hope things work out for you both.

Thank you for your advice. I appreciate it.

Jessica, would it be possible to put an advert into the local paper explaining the situation and asking if there is a dog lover out there who could help out. It is only a suggestion but many older people do not want to have a dog of their own but are happy to look after one for a short time.

I have to agree with Julie, rescue want you to give her up and you do not want to do that and looking at her gorgeous face I can see why.

If I was not across the pond I would do this for you but not possible unfortunately.

Thank you for replying. I will look into that and my local Craigslist to see if I can find a reliable and trustworthy person. Thanks again

Please be very careful with craigslist as many will seem okay but, they take these dogs and use them as bait dogs in dog fighting rings among other things these people will have wonderful references but,it is all phony you really need to be very careful as a few of these people have been caught. This is a dangerous thing as many out there make good money finding these dogs you really need to do alot of checking as well as asking questions you need to do investigating please be very careful we've had many who have been found dead and many who have been saved but,in very bad shape we've had so many with such gutt wrenching stories. If you really care for her maybe you should contact a rescue and let them rehome her as they make sure their safe i just care and i've seen what can happen please be so very careful.

Yes, I've been worried about things like that as well. Thank you very much. It seems that ill just have to keep her in pet babysitting Atleast until I can't afford it any longer and I suppose at that point I will have to come up with something different. Thanks again
Are you anywhere near Va Beach?
I am actually in Northern Virginia, near Sterling, VA.

Maybe you could contact one of the rescue groups and see if someone does dog sitting on the side.  It might be cheaper and they would make some money.  One of my former fosters parent contacted  me and asked out of the blue if he could pay me to watch Nishiki (now Woody)  I was glad to and suggested $15 a day which is way less than the $25-$30 a day at a boarder.

Homemade Toothpaste

As i'm always one for finding something new to make for my pups as i do not trust products anymore which i know many agree so now i'm making my own doggy toothpaste. It's a simple thing to make as most of us have these ingredients in our homes,it's just baking soda, parley which you can use dry or fresh, coconut oil.                                                                            Recipe                                                                    2 1/2 Tblsp. coconut oil          …See More
