Hello everyone! I've just noticed that my little one (Igor - 1 year old) has gotten some sort of pimple/wart looking thing in his lower jaw.

It's basically a small pink "ball" on one side of his "lower lip" it kind of hard to the touch and doesn't appear to hurt him. There are a couple of hairs growing in it, so it's not a bald spot or anythhing... I've been looking in the internet all day and I haven't been able to find anything like this. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Yes, I have two pugs both who have experienced the same thing. If you do not touch or squeeze them they will eventually go away. My oldest pug Amber had one which was quite big, to the point I did not want to take her out. After a chat with my vet she advised the same, they will go away. Must be just something all those wrinkles get. They do look quite red at times which is a worry. If they have not gone in a few weeks then get piece of mind from the vet. Great question.
Hope this helps.
Ros.
Thanks! This really helps.
My little Lila has a white one on the side of her jowl....it doesn't seem to bother her so I haven't worried about it. I just keep an eye on it so that I'm aware of any changes...was glad to see this question and the response.
Hi,

My little guy used to get them during his 0-2 years of age. I asked the vet and she proceeded to squeeze one. It actually went away very quickly after that. Whenever he has them that's what I do and it seems to help them heal fast. It doesn't seem to bother him.

Good luck!
check on what kind of bowls he's eating and drinking from, some materials especially plastic can cause this. Stainless is best. Also if he's a sloppy eater you might what to start cleaning his face after chowing down.
Hi my name is veronica and I know exactly what you are going thru!!Bubbles had it on the same spot and I also looked all over for any info and nothing. So I went to the doctor and all he said is to wipe her folds and her face with ur pick of doggie wipes with aloe or baby wipes with aloe.Works wonders.Get in them stinky folds cause if not he might get them there also.I try to clean with wipes every other day and no more red pimples.Good luck hope this was helpful
Hi,

I am Chee from Malaysia. My male pug (hugo) also on and off have pink "ball" on his skin now, previously are bad the pink ball grow very big and i have bring him to see doctor few time and my doctor cannot give me the anwser what it cause. After i change my Hugo's food to Eagle Pack - holistic select chicken & rice than the pink ball allergic are under contral. I do feed him salmon fish oil everyday. Anyone one here know any supplement are good and help pug's skin problem?
My pug has gotten these since he was only a few months old (he'll be a year next week) and sometimes gets 4 or 5 at a time. The last one he had was really big and took a couple of weeks to go away. I have no idea what causes them but what someone suggestsed to me was to use a little peroxide on the spot (I dabbed it on with a Q-tip) a couple times a day if the skin isn't broken. If they do break open I use a tiny bit of neosporin at night before he falls asleep so that there's less of a chance of him licking it off. From what I've heard these are pretty harmless and most dogs grow out of it. Hope this helps!
Hi,

Thanks for you information. Yes, my doctor also told me most of the pug will have this problem and now my pug's (Hugo) pink ball are under control after i feed him Eagle Pack - Holistic Select Chicken & Rice Fomular.
My vet gave Pugsley Pryoben shampoo to use weekly to keep these under control. It has helped a lot as far as prevention. I don't know if it would help heal them any faster?
Yes. We have two pugs and I notice it happening to one more than the other. Our vet advised us to apply a warm washcloth (rung out) and it should "pop" the pimple. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't and it just goes away on its own. Hope this helps!!
My 8 month old pug Star has the same problem. I am glad to have read this topic makes me not worry as much. She has 3, 2 on the side of her lip and 1 above her eye. So you all think wiping it with baby wipes will help and eventually it will go away?
